blogging with apps
Here I am creating a blog using Windows Live Writer. I had a bunch of optional updates to get for the computer so
I thought I had better install them. I am having trouble dragging and dropping files into a CD-RW and I used to be able to do this easily.
Now I am having trouble. it just wants to write then to the CD and not let me drag and drop or easily remove files. I’ll have to work on this!

Long Time, No Blog
Well, it's about time I start blogging more often. I am back on Facebook. I left for a few days back in June. It's a great way to keep up with friends-it can also be a time waster. You just have to know how to utilize it wisely. I have re-united with a few people that I had no contact with in over 20 years, so that is a big advantage. With others, you'd think there'd be a profile, but perhaps they keep it hidden and don't want to be found.
It's been terribly hot in Dallas for weeks. I love spring and summer more than any time of year, but when the heat is un-bearable with 100+ temperatures, there is no way of working out in it or anything activity but swimming and even then the pool water gets hot!
Today was a relief. Got some small showers. It's cloudy and only in the 70s. Big surprise! I do like fall. I like opening my window and letting the air come in. There is something about it, and every year late September to mid October we have the State Fair of Texas. Problem is that we seem to have rainy weekends when we want to go, or other weekends there are football games at the Cotton Bowl and it's overwhelmed with people, noisy, crowded, intoxicated.
Anyhoo, maybe I wil blog some more soon.

Food Inc. Please Read
This airs on PBS or your local public television.
First of all, I have known for a long time about the corruption going on in the farming and food manufacturing industry. I saw about half the program and became disgusted and sick of the way they treat the animals.
First off, these companies like Tyson pump the chickens so full of hormones they get fat and can't stand up-they just fall over-can't get up, and then they die. I saw it.
They just pile up these dead chickens and bury them or grind them up, I suppose.
One of the companies, Tyson, that processes chicken would not let the cameras go inside to see the plant or the chickens. "We can't do that". they quoted. Give or take a word or two. Something to hide? I'm sure.
They feed cows corn to fatten them up when they should be eating grass. Corn is cheaper so they think they can save money. But this has caused more harm than good. Money, money, money. :p
They showed a video clip of a cow being pushed around or tortured by a fork lift. I could hardly stand that!
And because of the irresponsibility of the manufactures to test meats for bacterias people have died from Ecoli. A little boy about 3yrs old died within 12 days after eating contaminated meat.
The mother was still in a battle in court after six years of his death.
The government allows this kind of thing to continue. Cruelty to animals, lack of testing the meats, pumping animals full of hormones, and feeding corn to the cows.
It's all about the money. They indicated it.
'Man has dominated man to his injury', says the Bible; and these people will have to suffer the consequences of their actions. They don't care who dies, or suffers because of their dirty work.
Again the program was aired tonight on PBS. It's POV: "Food Inc"
I'll be checking the Internet for more info. This is a reality.
I'd like to see Alex Jones expose this. Maybe he has.
If man would just do things the natural way, there would not be all the corruption in the manufacturing of livestock, chicken, beef, etc.
I for one will NOT be eating from Tyson foods.
But it doesn't end there.........
Check this link. I will add more later as they become available in the comments area.

Rudeness
Today at Wally World, aka Wal-Mart my friend and I had to deal with a blatantly rude man who rushed in front of us in line. He just dashed right
in front our basket and he KNEW what he'd done.
His excuse and I quote him: "Life's a race ya know?"
No, no. Manners are not a race. You sir were not more important. Why the the heck were you in such a hurry? One or two little items.
My friend quoted to him, "Love thy neighbor as yourself."
Very good passage without being ugly to him.
Maybe if he has a conscience he will feel bad about what he did.
I don't know what i said if I had been alone. But I would have told him he was rude, and then maybe have security escort me to the car.
These days you don't know what to expect from people-a blessing or a curse.
Maybe that man will put his faith in God and Christ. Maybe he will see about changing his ways.
But you don't have to be a Christian to be a nice person, but if you are you'll be even nicer. That does not include hypocrites or counterfeit Christians.
Anyway, life goes on and iam not nearly as peeved about it as I was at first.
I don't know how my friend could stay pretty calm about it when she can be pretty temper-mental,mood swings, and all about stuff.

In Memory
I don't think I posted this particular video I made from the silent movies my mother had put to DVD. This is the best one. Touching and sad. You would have to had known them at some point. I was young so I really didn't get a chance to know them as much as I would have liked to now...

blogging and reading blogs
Well, it's been a long day and I am up at a very late hour. Read a blog earlier. One I keep up with. Very nice. :) I wish I could post more often on it. Basically, I am requested to post on this persons' blog once a week. Yeah, you bet I would like to post daily. I love when people share their stories with the world. I would love for anyone to post on my blog a comment whenever they like-a nice one that is.
Since I cannot comment on a certain persons blog daily, I have made up this private journal or letter on my computer-talking to one of the persons the blog is about. It's like a little special message for them everyday-wishing this person well and seeing the progress they are making. truly amazed. Hope they don't mind me writing this as I am not giving out names. (I aim to please.) Heck, I can write what I want on my blog and I know how to be discreet.
Okay, so there is a lot I cannot explain, but anyway, I get a kick out of reading the persons blog. I feel a part of the whole thing. After 18yrs and counting, of knowng of this persons work and career, I am limited to one comment a week. Does that bother me? Yes, but I am not angry-just frustrated.....18years.....I have much appreciation for these people-esp. the fact that they decided to share their blog stories. Well, that's it.
G'Nite C.O.M. You know who you are-sleep tight.

Well, just chillin
Didn't feel well this afternoon. Slept a lot. Feels pretty much like I will be going off to bed sooner. The melatonin works some. Not always. Last night I was a little more depressed but then I come out of it. Heart palpitations were bothersome today. Taking my meds. Doctors give me a good diagnosis. I'm okay. I guess I was just stressed over something or for some reason, my heart just decided to rebel. Who knows? Why wonder over it? Just make it worse. Anyhow, this shall pass...

Invisible

I was just on a site and feel pretty invisible tonight. It's not fair for me to think I deserve attention all the time, I know. My friends on chat are apparently NOT at their computer or deliberately ignoring my chat. The gray, moon looking dot on Facebook usually means a person is not using their chat. Green means they are actively chatting with someone, from what I understand. I've been on Facebook since August 2008. I've been dumped by an old childhood friend who finds my news uninteresting and just because we don't keep in contact much otherwise. I think we are ruled too much by these social networks. They are okay in moderation, but true friends, we need in the flesh. That and the blogs are great for keeping others informed of our happenings and our life-especially loved ones and friends. It seems to me this blog is uninteresting to anyone-yes, I'm blowing off steam. I've been posting since 2007 and not one comment has surfaced. Of course I'd rather none than some troll to come along and ridicule or insult my life. Go ahead, but I won't allow comments that degrade or offend. They get removed. I appreciate any comments that are positive and meet my guidelines. Okay, enough said.....

Recycling Has Begun
Yes, officially we are now recycling. Our bin was delivered last Friday and we had quite a bit to put in there. I checked the local city website for more information. There are some things that we cannot recycle. Most of it can. It has already made a difference in the bulk in our regular trash. And it saves so much. It really makes a difference. The more people that recycle, the better it will be. We have recycled soft drink cans for years-actually we sell those for a few dollars. Recycling is not hard. It's pretty easy. So....recycle!
Stuck With a Cold
Today, not so hot. I was just recovering from a respiratory infection I had last month-all month. Got a prescription. Got 99% well. Still had some nasal congestion-TMI. :) Other than that, better. Now my nose is running like Niagara Falls. Cold medicine helps for awhile. It only treats it. Viruses just have to clear up on their own, basically. Bacteria can be healed with meds.

Big Brother is Watching!
Today Our world has become much like 'The Truman Show' and it seems that it is offending more and more of us, although some cameras are for our protection and help catch criminals. Forbid they ever put them in our homes! A recent story was shown where cameras were in the kids bathroom or showers at school! Don't let your privacy be overly intruded. Truman escaped-so can we!

Do a good thing
I did my good deed for the day, lol. I picked up nearly a whole bag of trash. The curbs are often filled with beer bottles, plastic cups, straws, etc. You name it, it's there. I don't know why some people cannot conscientiously make it a point to throw stuff in a garbage receptacle. Instead they leave it or dump it out of their car. How long would it take to go inside to get a trash bag, or keep some in their car? Anyway, as spring comes, a lot more ahead to do. It can make a big difference if you pick up even a small bag of trash. Get a little exercise and pick it up, even if it is not your trash. Yes, people should pick up their own trash, but set and example. Someone may be impressed and want to get out and do the same. There's potential.
THIS IS A LOCAL PSA "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS". IT WAS STARTED BACK IN THE 80s-about keeping your trash off the streets of Texas.

Positive
Today was a positive day. I am exhausted now and need to turn in for the night. I am looking forward to tomorrow. The possibilities of positivity are in my favor. Sometimes I just have to decide that I will be. Good night!
I can put our beloved family 8mm movies on DVD now!
I finally got me a DVD burner. Now I can burn the old movies to music on a DVD and watch on the TV. It looks great! The still photo versions are incredibly clear. I am on a roll and love doing this and we have yet to process a few more old rolls of film to a DVD but those must be sent off first. It's great to be able to look back and see my mother, her brother, and my grandparents, second cousins, great aunt like they were right there. Many of them are no longer with us. Can't wait to get more movies produced. Silence can be golden on old film, but add some oldies, and they really come to life, it's quite emotional, in fact...

Family Photo Memories (part 1)
This is a tribute to my mom and her family. I have old videos we just had put on a DVD and will be posting more of them! I'm in a sentimental mood tonight....
Dedication to a little one.....
There was a little tike born so early and living one day at a time. Here's a special "love" song for him. I'm sure his parents would agree. :)
The Memories.....
This is my uncle back in about 1948. He created his own dance...This was before Elvis..lol
We Need Natural Foods and Supplements
The more you study, the more you learn. I am learning more and more than ever that natural foods, vitamins, exercise, etc. are the key to better health. The medical industry pumps us full of things that are bad for us. True, some things are helpful when we need them, but I am convinced that doctors want us to be sick-chronically. Maybe that sounds negative after all the positive I have posted in the past but actually, this can move any of us to make positive and better choices. Did you know vitamin D kills the flu virus? I will post that to you in the extreme future. You need to take vitamin D often, not just when you are sick. My friend has passed on some videos to me from YouTube and there are many. I will try to get more going on this blog, or so I say..... I'm a busy web surfer and don't get around to posting but a few times a year, at best. Maybe that will change.
Life Is a Miracle
I've been reading a great blog on the birth of a baby-one born a bit too soon into the world but ready to fight to live. I don't know the parents personally. The parents are both professionals at what they do. I've been keeping up with them for several years now. I think I have seen other blogs about premature babies, but this one is a good read.
Life is very fragile. We take it for granted. There are so many good things in life and it is touching when others want to share their story with many others. Maybe it will help people in a similar situation. Tests make you stronger, bolder, more loving, patient. You should try it. No, I'm not perfect, but through my own tests and trials, it has definitely made me stronger and more confident in myself. If we can just believe that and be convinced we have a place in this world and we matter, life would be a little easier. Take care! :)
